Learn all about it as you immerse yourself in Hy\u00e8res culture.   <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"columns__item\" style=\"align-self:center;\"><h2>The Villa Noailles<\/h2><p>The Villa Noailles was built in Hy\u00e8res from 1923 to 1925. Robert Mallet-Stevens was its initial architect, assisted by local architect L\u00e9on David for the extensions and annexes built up to 1933. The villa is one of the first French buildings in the modern style. It was commissioned by the Viscount de Noailles and his wife.   <\/p><p>The villa has been constantly enlarged to reach 2,000 m2 from the original 500 m2. It now boasts 60 rooms, a private swimming pool, squash court and gymnasium. <\/p><p>The villa is located on the hill of the old ch\u00e2teau. It features a large Mediterranean garden planted by the viscount himself, which was later complemented by a cubist garden in 1925, called the triangular garden. <\/p><p id=\"12334\">It was sold to the municipality in 1973 and listed as a historic monument in 1975. In 1987, after a long period of neglect, a restoration process was begun and in 1996 it became a center for art and architecture. The town of Hy\u00e8res offers an architectural, plant and urban heritage steeped in history and culture. Along the way, you can visit the church of Saint-Louis, the Villa Noailles and the Tour des Templiers, but that&#8217;s not all! You&#8217;ll also discover the Saint-Paul collegiate church and the Mediterranean gardens of the Parc Saint-Bernard. The circuit is signposted. The 2-kilometer walk will take around 90 minutes of your time.       <\/p><p>Stroll through the narrow streets of Hy\u00e8res and discover the traditional skills and artistic talents of the town. In the 14th century, the chapel included other features such as a main building, a barn and a cellar, as well as a mill and an oven.   <\/p><p>The tower is the only remaining vestige of this monument. It was ceded to the town in 1673. From 1765 onwards, the town undertook a number of improvements. It was listed as a historic monument on March 30, 1987, and is now an exhibition space. The remains of the castle have been listed as a historic monument since 1862. Since 1926, the ramparts and the old castle have also been listed.  <\/p><p>  Built in the 11th century by the Lords of Fos, the ch\u00e2teau was partly destroyed by order of Henri IV in 1596 and dismantled in 1620 by Louis XIII. The remains are a fine example of 13th-century military architecture. Visit these remains for a magnificent view of the Bay of Hy\u00e8res, the Golden Islands and the Maures massif. Its name comes from the land on which it is built: the Pic des f\u00e9es, on Mont Oiseaux. It came into being thanks to the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Astronomique Hy\u00e9roise Amateur and the ardent desire of its members to introduce the public to the world of astronomy. Today, the observatory boasts an extensive infrastructure and a full range of astronomical equipment. Enough to delight astronomy fans.
