Correns is a village in the Var known for its <strong>organic farming<\/strong>. It&#8217;s <strong>surrounded by fields of<\/strong> <strong>vines<\/strong> and <strong>aromatic<\/strong> <strong>plants<\/strong>. It is also home <strong>to hens, goats and beehives<\/strong>. The <strong>Argens river flows through the<\/strong> commune. The banks of Correns are home to many pretty houses, as well as a number of treasures to discover. Discover it from one of our nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/acampa-vacances.com\/en\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"73\">Var campsites<\/a>!        <\/p><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"columns__item\"><h2>Fort Gibron<\/h2><p>Now <strong>restored as a cultural center<\/strong>, Fort Gibron was once an <strong>abbey residence<\/strong> dating back to the <strong><sup>12th<\/sup> century<\/strong>. This <strong>Baroque-style<\/strong> <strong>medieval monument<\/strong> contains a <strong>magnificent altarpiece<\/strong>. It was <strong>restored in 2008<\/strong> and now hosts <strong>exhibitions<\/strong> and <strong>cultural events<\/strong>. The Fort features exhibition rooms, an inner courtyard, meeting rooms and the remains of a keep. All around is the village of today, paved with narrow cobblestone streets. The village&#8217;s name comes <strong>from the Proven\u00e7al<\/strong> word for <strong>frost<\/strong> and <strong>ice<\/strong>. Renowned for its <strong>ecological qualities<\/strong>, it is a <strong>veritable paradise<\/strong> for numerous plant and animal species. You&#8217;ll find <strong>beaches<\/strong> for swimming and picnicking in magnificent surroundings. Some are easily accessible by road. Others, however, are only accessible by <strong>canoe<\/strong>. All the more reason to get active! The <strong>Vallon Sourn<\/strong> is characterized <strong>by<\/strong> <strong>high<\/strong> <strong>limestone<\/strong> <strong>cliffs<\/strong>. Some climbers enjoy the magnificent scenery! Whether you&#8217;re a <strong>beginner<\/strong> or <strong>an amateur<\/strong>, you&#8217;re <strong>welcome<\/strong>.        <\/p><\/div><\/div><h2>The organic festival<\/h2><p>This event brings together over <strong>130 exhibitors<\/strong> on the <strong><sup>3rd<\/sup> weekend of August<\/strong>. Come and discover <strong>all the<\/strong> region&#8217;s <strong>organic<\/strong> <strong>professionals<\/strong>: <strong>market gardeners, farmers, winemakers, restaurateurs, retailers and many more<\/strong>. Over the two days, you&#8217;ll be able to <strong>see films<\/strong> and <strong>attend conferences<\/strong> on the subject.  <\/p><p>Correns is <strong>70 km from the Presqu&#8217;\u00eele de Giens<\/strong>, a <strong>drive of<\/strong> around <strong>1h15<\/strong>.
