For the uninitiated, there&#8217;s no sight more singular than a salty land stretching between sky and sea, its horizontality broken only by the presence of pine forests and hamlets. It&#8217;s a place where forested areas rub shoulders with creeks and turquoise waters. Its exceptional setting makes for an<strong> idyllic vacation for couples, families or friends<\/strong>.   <\/p><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"columns__item\" style=\"align-self:center;\"><h2>Visit the Giens peninsula<\/h2><p id=\"3516\">You can <a href=\"https:\/\/acampa-vacances.com\/en\/tourism\/getting-to-the-presquile-de-giens\/\" data-type=\"tourisme\" data-id=\"3516\">reach the <strong>Presqu&#8217;\u00eele de Giens<\/strong> by <\/a>car, bus, plane or train. Considered a geological curiosity unique in the world, this island is linked to the mainland by 2 5 km-long sandbanks called <strong>tombolos<\/strong>. The tombolos surround the <strong>Pesquiers salt marshes<\/strong>, home to a remarkable ornithological reserve with its <strong>pink flamingos<\/strong>.  <\/p><p><strong>Discover the Presqu&#8217;\u00eele by bike<\/strong>. Hiking enthusiasts can follow kilometers of coastline, including the <strong>coastal path<\/strong> that circles the island. Your effort will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the <strong>small islands<\/strong> and coves. To the east, an easier trail links <strong>Tour Fondue to Badine<\/strong>, offering breathtaking views of <strong>Toulon harbor<\/strong>. To the west, a more physically demanding trail takes you from La Madrague to the Niel marina, offering successive views of <strong>Porquerolles<\/strong>, the smaller islands and the peninsula.    <\/p><p>Among the best-known sites are the<strong>islet of La Gabini\u00e8re<\/strong>, the <strong>Pointes du Vallon<\/strong> and de la <strong>Croix on the south coast of Port-Cros<\/strong>, and the wrecks of the Donator and Le Grec in Porquerolles.
