Located in the Port-Cros National Park, Porquerolles is the largest of the 3 islands.
Its magnificent beaches and pure air are awe-inspiring! But what to do with all the activities on offer?

Here are just a few of the possibilities presented in this article near one of our campsites in the Var.

The must-see Carmignac Foundation

Created in 2000 on the initiative of Edouard Carmignac, the Fondation Carmignac hosts exhibitions of contemporary art, as well as a sculpture garden and a cultural program.

There are no fewer than 2,000 square meters of exhibition space, while natural light, filtered through an aqua ceiling, illuminates the hidden spaces.

Outside, you’ll discover a 15-hectare garden containing a whole series of works, themselves inspired by the site. The height of the contemporary, the exhibits are barefoot. You’ll almost feel like you’re at the beach!

Hiking, for the more motivated

The best-known hikes are the Langoustier hikes, which take around 4 hours and are 11.5 kilometers long.

This takes you past the silver beaches, the Fort du Grand Langoustier and finally the conservatory. However, please do not pick flowers, keep dogs on a leash and stay on the paths, as the site is classified as a national park.

Beaches, for those who want to relax

The beaches of Porquerolles are among the most beautiful and heavenly you’ll ever see. They can be found on the north coast of the island and are easily accessible by bike.

Notre Dame beach, considered one of the most beautiful, stretches for 800 meters. Yet it’s relatively uncrowded. Enjoy the fine sand!
