Provence’s most beautiful markets
In Provence, you’ll find markets, each more beautiful than the last. We’ve selected a few for you.
The great Provencal market of St-Rémy-de-Provence
It’s a weekly market. Every Wednesday morning, from 8am to 1pm, you can see the stalls. This large, colorful market takes place in the old streets of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. You’ll find all the flavors of Provence: spices, olives, oils, fruits & vegetables. But also herbs, honeys, flowers, fabrics and antiques. It’sone of the finest markets in the region.

Markets in Marseille
Discover the typical stalls of Provence. You’ll find all the flavors of Provence, as well as flea markets, flower markets and book markets. There’s something for everyone. There’s even an organic market on the Cours Julien on Wednesdays. And don’t forget Marseille’s famous fish market, which comes alive every morning on the Vieux-Port. The Phocaean city also boasts a number of flower markets, enough to please your nearest and dearest.
Grand marché des primeurs d’Aubagne
Every Saturday and Sunday morning, the farmers’ market takes place. You’ll find all the colors and smells of Provence. Its local produce is renowned. The producers themselves join the retailers to bring a touch of authenticity.

One of the most beautiful markets is in Sanary-sur-mer
Popular with tourists in summer, Sanary-sur-Mer is a seaside town with a rich historical heritage. Discover its traditional market, which attracts many people on Wednesday mornings along the harbor. In summer, the market attracts just over 300 stallholders! You’ll find fresh seafood, fruit and vegetables, as well as typical Provencal products.
Brignoles markets
Brignoles is the capital of the Centre Var region. This medieval town is part of the Provence Verte region. When summer arrives, Brignoles offers a wide range of markets. To discover its typical Provencal market, you’ll have to wait until Saturday morning. Local producers gather at Place du 8 Mai. Other stalls can be found in Place Charles de Gaulle.

Cotignac
Cotignac, like Brignoles, is also located in Provence Verte. A typical Provencal village, Cotignac is known not only for its wines, but also for its charming little market. Every Tuesday, in summer and winter alike, the Cours Gambetta opens its doors to the Provencal market. Many local producers come to offer their quality products.
Barjols
Not far from Cotignac and Brignoles, at the gateway to the Verdon, lies the village of Barjols. Every Sunday morning, stroll along its small market where some forty exhibitors take your senses on a journey. Provencal products are waiting for you: fruit, vegetables and other local produce.

The list could be much longer. There are so many markets in Provence. Would you like to discover them? Rent a campsite in the Var to make the most of it.
