Carqueiranne: a charming little seaside resort
Carqueiranne is a small Provencal port on the Var coast, 15 km from Toulon, 10 km from Camping Clair de Lune and 6 km from Hyères.
The village center is really quiet and pleasant, and the harbor and shores offer lovely walks and good little restaurants, where you can enjoy the local cuisine based on fish and shellfish. In summer, there’s plenty of entertainment.

The shoreline and port of Carqueiranne
Located in the center of the Var coastline, at the foot of green pinewood hills, Carqueiranne is a pretty little Provencal port. Its fine sandy beaches and numerous coves tumble into turquoise blue waters facing the famous Iles d’Or. It’s a charming little Provencal village.
The almost 10-kilometre coastline offers a variety of landscapes. Fine sand and pebble beaches, sheer cliffs and unusual rock shapes alternate against a backdrop of beautiful nineteenth-century villas. The “Beau Rivage” and “Pins Penchés” listed sites offer walkers the chance to admire curious trees twisted and leaning over the water.
Beaches and sea
Carqueiranne’s beaches aren’t that numerous, but they’re very pretty, and there are lots of smaller, quieter coves.
Here you can enjoy sailing, water sports and, above all, diving. The seabed close to shore is home to octopus, sea urchins, starfish and brightly colored fish.
The center and the market
While the port of Carqueiranne is very characteristic, the village center is also very pleasant. Avenue Jean Jaurès, the main thoroughfare, and Place de la République are well shaded and lively.
Every Thursday, the center hosts a very pleasant market.
Summer events
The Festival Théâtre In Situ is held every first half of August at the Fort de la Bayarde.
Every Wednesday throughout the summer, the Parc Saint-Vincent auditorium hosts a colorful show as part of the famous Moments de Clair Val.
Capital of the long-stemmed tulip
Its southern microclimate enabled the development of horticulture and market gardening decades ago.
Greenhouses and flower cultivation are omnipresent in the commune, but the best-known and most coveted is the tulip. Indeed, this “village” of 10,000 inhabitants is now the world capital of the long-stemmed tulip.
