The tropical bird garden

A true tropical paradise
The ornithological and botanical garden at La Londe offers visitors an incomparable collection of exotic birds and rare plants.
This bird garden is a testament par excellence to exceptional climatic conditions: its private collections include one of the world’s finest collections of toucans and many others: hornbills, African jabirus, Sulawesi pigeons, macaws, parrots… It is classified as a “Remarkable Garden” by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
The birds
A total of 450 birds in 80 species from Asia, Africa and South America. The 6-hectare Bird Garden, a modern-day Noah’s Ark, contributes to the conservation and reproduction of endangered species.
Numerous palms, cacti, giant bamboos, eucalyptus and other austral plants give the park a truly tropical ambience: on September 7, 2006, the Wollemi Pine arrived in France! The first to be planted was in La Londe.
