Winter comes with cold temperatures, but sometimes with sunshine that warms the face when you’re brave enough to expose yourself to the sun for a while to replenish your vitamin D levels. The coastline beckons, offering you a walk that will soothe you with its beauty and calm. Equip yourself well and make the most of this mild season.
Swim
Are you cold and can’t bear to swim in the sea in the middle of winter? Here’s a tip: get yourself a wetsuit!
In fact, it’s warmer in the sea than outside. The water temperature is around 14°C, whereas the air temperature is much colder. What’s more, cold water improves blood circulation.
A good compromise for better health! Take your courage in both hands and swim a few laps to enjoy the Mediterranean undisturbed.


Paddleboarding
Stand-up paddling is a huge success! A surfboard and a paddle, and that’s it. Some people practice it all year round. Why not try it yourself? Grab a wetsuit and get in the water to discover a coastline untouched by crowds during the winter season. The coasts, free from summer mass tourism, offer a marvellous spectacle. It’s well worth the effort, and you’ll soon be warmed by your paddling.
Porquerolles
In winter, theisland of Porquerolles is quiet and nature returns to its wild state, much to your delight. Enjoy it to the full. Explore the island by bike or on foot.
Discover hidden coves, relax on the sand and admire the purity of the water. Its turquoise is without equal! In some parts of the island, you won’t need a bike, but walking is well worth the detour.
This island is part of the Port-Cros National Park is brimming with natural wonders. You’ll also find fields of laurel and a botanical conservatory. Winter doesn’t detract from its charm.
