There are two categories of sea fishing:

Sport fishing, where anglers are licensed or affiliated to a national sports organization or federation.

Recreational fishing, where anglers are not affiliated to any federation.

Species caught during recreational fishing are reserved exclusively for the angler and his family. To preserve the species, they must respect minimum catch sizes and regulated fishing zones. They must use onlythe equipment authorized by law.

To whet your appetite, here are a few Provençal fish specialties to sample without moderation:

Fish soup

This dish is an integral part of Provencal cuisine. Fish soup is made with rock fish. For those with a sweet tooth, you can add extra flavor with garlic bread croutons spread with rouille.

This delicious soup is also found in the recipe for the famous bouillabaisse, served with fish and potatoes.
